Have you tried Sublingual Immunotherapy to treat mold allergies?

    Have you tried Sublingual Immunotherapy to treat mold allergies?

    I am curious to find out if there is any one out there who has been treated for mold allergies with immunotherapy (either shots or drops).  I was wondering if you found it effective for treating symptoms (particularly GI symptoms). If you have not tried I still would appreciate comments/opinions regarding this method of treatment. Thanks HP community.

    I am allergic to mold.  Received allergy shots about 10 years ago.  Then moved. 

    I've had several hospitalizations in the past two years due to asthma, but recently found out I had gallbladder disease and acid reflux.  So, now I'm on Nexium.

    I started allergy shots again in 2012 for about 6 months.

    Two doctors said they thought the asthma was due to the acid reflux and started me on Nexium.  I've had no asthma symptoms since.

    I had been taking singulair, 2 inhalers, Flonase and zyrtec daily to treat my asthma.  Now I'm free of asthma symptoms after taking nexium.

    The allergy shots definitely helped.  I had to stop taking them because I became quite ill last Dec. unrelated.

    I have used both, injectable, and drops. Both worked. I took the shots in my younger years, as I had asthma. Avoidance is the best approach. At times it isn't possible. As an adult I have had a re-occurance with it. I used QBC, and the drops, as well as a sinus cleanse of grapefruit seed extract, very helpful.
