How do you explain death to a child and do you do it before or after someone dies?
I have always talked or joked about death. Not in a morbid fashion and not all the time. It was my version of prepping the children for when someone dies. My mom died last year, we had already been joking for years about what we would get from her. (Big joke, since she really did not have anything to leave behind.) When it did happen, my kids were sad. Then I told them that she went to God's backyard, where my dad already was, a fish we used have was. I just think each child is different and I think atleast acknowleding death before it happens is a good idea.
Most of us are uncomfortable just thinking about death, let alone talking to our children about it. Eventually, you will have to talk to your kids about it and these tips will help you through it. read more
