Have you ever heard of Strep F?
I've heard of Strep throat and Strep B. Apparently there are all kinds of streps.
Yes it is a buggar. Strep has at least 10 kinds that we may know. F is not common. It is important to note that it is in us in our mouth normally. What you are probably talking about is an infection from it. The symptoms kind of remind me of SARS. Usually an abscess or two. Penicillin as opposed to a Z-pack is better for treatment. It can cause death in one already weakened or never treated.
Wow, that's totally scary. My daughter has been sick recently. I took her to the dr and they thought it was childhood diabetes. They said it is strep f. They put her on antibiotics.
From what I understand you are good to go and it is only a 50% chance that they diagnosed it right early. Good job! Ooops you said "antibiotics" Should be just straight Penicillin 10 day regimen. For sure worth a double check
There is strep NF which is what I had aka Flesh Eating Disease. I have a hub written about it. http://just-ask-susan.hubpages.com/hub/ … Fascilitis
I can imagine there are different kinds - I remember once having a rarer form. My daughter and my grandson had strep this week -it would be interesting to learn more about the different kinds.
