Addiction is a health problem, we all know that being addicted to a wrong life patten is destructive to one's health.People keep talking of addiction to alcohol, drugs etc yet there is the most delicate and dangerous addiction which has ruined so many lives/families. SEX ADDICTION.

Sex addiction is just the main cause of infidelity.

You see the partner that experienced such great surges of pleasure is now desperately seeking it elsewhere. You may not have expected it to happen, but it does, and then you find out your lover is not only addicted to sex, but cheating on you every chance he/she gets to get that thrill.(An addict).

How do you know one who is addicted to sex?

    1.Phone or Computer Sex
    2.Obsessive dating through personal ads
    3.Consistent use of porn
    4.Compulsive masturbation

My own definition of Sex addiction:

The term sex addiction is used to describe a person who has a distorted and obsessive sex drive.  They think about sex all the time and can’t wait for the next encounter where they can take such high-risks, and soon don’t even care about the consequences of their financial or relationship status.  All they desire is to get that next fix.

    Sex addiction is treatable.

Apart from getting counsel, there are also certain medications for obsessive compulsive disorders and can sustain your compulsive nature, like Prozac and Anafranil.

Rossi, you are right and then one addiction leads to an other one, because it is never enough! So what is the cause why some one is addicted? Not only to sex but also to all what can give people any kind of sensation and it doesn't even matter if this is pleasurable or painful. This is an interesting topic, I will make a new hub out of it. Thanks for inspiring me! Have a look a bit later at my hubs...

Another sad thread, which isn't going to do any good, except to generate reactions and not solutions.

Any form of addiction is an individual problem on the level that they lack knowledge and understanding about themselves.

Contrare! I think it is a good thread: People civilly discussing a real problem, asking questions and looking for anwsers. Without heckling it may even be helpful to someone smile
    Just my thoughts, Holly smile
