Did you ever lie to a doctor to get special medical attention or a prescription?

No, but I had a doctor accuse me of exaggerating symptoms after repeated (dozen) visits for chronic nausea, digestive problems, periodic pain. The health plan didn't want to let me go to a gastroenterologist without his referral and he wouldn't give me a referral.
I had to go to the office and beg for an administrative over-ride of the doctor just saying "chronic food poisoning".
Saw the gastroenterologist, was diagnosed with internal bleeding from his tests, had surgery within two weeks.

I hope you found a new GP after that experience!  That doesn't sound like fun at all!

Yes, I did. But when you're barely out of school in a first job, that couple thousand you'd pay without the referral seemed impossible to handle.
