First MRI with diazepam 5mg for claustrophobia why do I have to be in there for 60-90 min?

I tried to do the MRI already previously without diazepam  and when they put me in head first, as soon as I saw the long close top of the tunnel at my face and chest, I was yelling get me out and crying.  I've got myself so worked up over this.  I hope the med helps.  I'd rather be put to sleep.

It's really hard to deal with that. The time depends on what the MRI is for, what your need is.  Ask them to give you a tube of blowing air to hold by your face.  It makes a huge difference.  Close your eyes and "see" blue sky "because" you are lying on your back in a meadow with flowers blowing in the breeze all around you.
