How long after you break you wrist does it take to get rid of this horrible pain?

I broke my wrist 5 months age, had 3 different casts on my arm, no surgery. I have been in physio therapy for 3 months, there is a lump on the side of my wrist. the top of my hand is very soar but a different kind of pain than the rest  of my hand and arm involved. The pain is just about constant down my baby finger, up the side of my hand, and up my forearm, now going into my shoulder.  The pain is just getting worst. I seen the surgeon and he told me I had to wait a yr. from the break for anything to be done. not even referred to a pain specialist. Could this be in my head. Really apprecip

uh, no takes a very long time. A very long time. I don't know what kind of work you do  but really can't do anything with that wrist. As soon as it stops hurting - people start using it again and then it's screwed up for another 6 weeks. Problem is that the tiny bones.

Had a friend who just had a fracture. So the x-ray where the doctor pointed it out. I didn't see nothing.  but he told him 6-8 weeks and don't use a hammer or anything for a year.

Sorry you are hurting so bad.  Try acupuncture.  I know it is not covered by insurance but I know it works.  And it is not crazy yin/yang - look up "gate theory" for pain.

My testimony is that I was unable to hold a full mug of coffee, the pain from wrist radiated up my elbow/shoulder. After 15 minutes - I could hold a full cup of coffee.

I hope you get better. Yours sincerely, ptosis

P.S. I tried to mark the points with marker and kept the needle to do at home and guess what - I didn't know what I was doing and it did nothing. Pressure points don't work.
