For many years the FDA has failed to do its job. It should have asked the tobacco companies to remove the toxins from cigarettes: heavy metals, thousands of chemicals, herbicides and pesticides. Cigarettes are the most toxic items on the stores. Every day I am personally exposed to them on the street at bus stops, near my apartment building and just about every where I go with the exception of the University of Minnesota which has banned it from its campus. Good for them. It is a smoke free oasis for me. I love going on the down the street there and not having to deal with someone smoking in my face. I have asthma, chemical sensitivity and allergies, so exposure is very personal for me. I am big health hazard and one out of five people who die are smokers or have been seriously exposed to smoke. I think the FDA should do its job and get them to remove the toxins. If they don't they should be put out of business period.
So, as a nation we are demanding the legalization of marijuana. It's negative effects for recreational use are well documented. But, it's a potential tax cow.
We have a nationwide opioid crisis little is being done to stem.
On the scale of 1 to 10 of things to ponder outlawing tobacco doesn't make the list.
You asked.
It's funny how people attack bad habits they don't participate in. Maybe, it would be better if we tried to fix ourselves and our own bad habits instead of worrying about what other people are doing.

I personally am quite against them. And I am horrified that they aren't required by law to be labelled. What do you think?
