Greeting card

I got a greeting card

I want to share with you a dream I had today and thoughts that followed after that dream.

Yesterday I went to bed early. In the morning hours, I was half asleep. During the time I saw a dream. In the dream, I received a New Year greeting card addressed to me. When I tried to identify the person who sends it without opening the cover, I heard a sound that tells me that you would not know the person till you open it. Then I opened the cover and was looking for who signed it.

I discovered that the person who signed it was a sister and her husband in Christ to whom I met and spend time with, in a church where I attended around 15 years back.

It was a dream. I received a greeting card from them in the dream. Then I woke up from my sleep, still remembering that sweet dream and the persons who sent it. You know it! The feelings of receiving a greeting card from that good friend. Whom you met many years ago but forget now.

The smiling sister in Christ and her husband took my attention till I come out of my bed. They were ordinary believers who put extra efforts to meet young Christians and encourage them. They take out time from their busy schedule to meet youngsters like me and took us to streets for evangelism. I remember those days. Christians met at the lawns of India Gate. Every Saturday early morning we went there to play cricket for two hours in the summer. We used to do prayer walks in the early morning in the roads near India gate.

Gratitude

They were the golden days I love and cherish to remember. After that, I shifted to the outer side of Delhi and started to attend another church. After many years passed, I forget many of those good friends to whom I was associated with during my stay at New Delhi. Even though I stay in Delhi, I work in the nearby state called Uttar Pradesh. New activities in the new church and family life made me forget about my olden, golden days.

Today morning I remembered all those with whom I was associated with during my stay at New Delhi. I Prayed from them. And decided to get in touch with them.

In this pilgrim's progress, we meet many people on the way. Some are very encouraging and helping. But as we get busy in something else, or shifted to another place, we forget many things slowly. But very few remember and cherish the golden moments that they spend together. Rarely someone takes time out to express love by sending a greeting card. I just want to say a word of thank you in the language of heart for all the encouragements and helps and supports provided to me on this journey of life. "May God Bless you with His heavenly blessings". They are the few words through which I could express my gratitude as I believe they are the appropriate words. And God is the source of all eternal blessings.

When I opened my HubPage account I noticed I received many comments from many of my fellow hubbers. I went to comment section and sort all comments date wise. Many old familiar faces were there who wrote encouraging comments. I can't forget those initial days. Many months passed now. I don't know how many of them are continuing in their hubbing journey. Many quit hubbing. Some users are no more existing. Some are there continuing their journey through HubPages. Recently I noticed that some of the deleted their articles and no activity in their account.

I take this opportunity to thank you all for stopping me and reading my hubs. Very few took time out to write a comment. Those comments are a source of energy for writing more and continuing the journey.

River of life

Human life is like a flow of the river. When the sun comes up the snowmelt. It starts as a small drop of water. Then many drops add to that drop and started to flow from the mountain. Then many streams join it and become a river. Lastly, they join in the ocean. We all are a drop of water that makes a river. Ultimately we all flow down to join that group of people who were here yesterday and no more today. Our flow is always downward and cannot go back to the previous stage. During the flow, our good qualities like our innocence and humbleness are polluted forcefully or the other way. We become hard and arrogant. Our color and taste may change during the course of the flow. Contaminated! we join in the ocean.

Sharing and caring
During the life, we accumulate and amass many things like money, property etc. We don't know why we keep that property or money which is of litter or no use. By possessing we are preventing others from using those things which can satisfy their need. Let me explain it. I bought a packet of tissue paper for the use of the family. I kept it on the dining table for use. When my small girls came from their school, they found a packet of tissue paper. They divided that packet of tissue paper equally and kept it in their drawer.

You are the salt of the earth

They use tissue paper as they need. At the same time, they were preventing others in the family from using it. I explained to them what they were doing. They were doing wrong. They were preventing others from using the tissue paper by keeping it in their safe custody. At the same time, it was meant for the whole family. When they understand the mistake they returned it to the dining table. Now everyone in the family, as well as the gusts, can use it.

By possessing things for ourselves means we are preventing others from using it. I have seen old and rotten food grains outside the government warehouses. At the same time, thousands of people are starving for food.

That is the kind of world we are living in. We need to change. We need to regain our purity and humbleness so that many around us can feel and taste that purity. Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot."

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Now hope you would be sending some greeting cards to those old contacts. Be grateful to others. Share whatever you have with others. Wish you all the best.
