   I would not like that.. I love the 'Christmas season.. I would be so sad..

   The positive aspect of celebrating Christmas every other year would be that it couldn't sneak up on me as quickly. I guess it comes from being an older person, but man, times and holidays seem to whiz by.
   
   The negative for me would be that this is a time of year where love, kindness, warm-hardheartedness, and a special type of magic seem to be at work. Missing that even one year would be a tragedy.
   
   Maybe it isn't memory problems that affect the elderly as much as a time and space continuum bottle-neck syndrome brought on by daylight savings...just a thought.

   Oh that would be sad.  I love the Christmas season and the joy and happiness I get from making gifts and sharing the day with family and friends.  I think taking a break from shopping and stocking up on stuff is a good way to end the stress if that's part of the reason for your question.  The handmade gifts we give seem to always be much appreciated.

   I would love that. I try desperately not to get sucked into Christmas each year, I feel that it is far too much pressure and has wandered far from it's original message. I think people might put more value into it if it were intermittent

   I think that would be nice. It comes too quickly. On the off years, we could JUST focus on the religious aspect of it if so inclined or the giving of our time to others, but leave out all the decorating and parties and gift giving. I rarely have time for everything and am always relieved when it's over.

   For once in a blue moon, this Christmas has been a bit better for me, being in the company of family.   But most other years christmas can be just a reminder of all those lonely weekends spent wishing for companionship.  When the media outlets are shouting at you that if you are not over the moon with glee and fun and besotted, drunken debauchery, you are abnormal..... then for the lonely person it can be a dreadful time.
   
   I would say to christians and non-christians alike, look outside of yourselves and ask what you are celebrating!

   I think it depends on how you celebrate it. Just saying Merry Christmas every year is kind of a celebration. But, getting together with family, and making a big deal out of it, is something our family rarely does to begin with. Mainly because we are all scattered throughout the state now, and don't have a whole lot of money to travel, and nobody can ever agree on who should host it.
   
   So, our family has not had a big celebration in years. But, when we were kids, we celebrated Christmas with the relatives every year. and there were so many people on my moms side of the family, that we needed to rent a hall to have it. Usually with 200 to 300 people.

    Up until this year, I would have said every year.  This year however, I think I have changed my mind.  The children that I bought for were ungrateful and acted so spoiled about everything.  With the attitudes that I saw, I would gladly say every other year.

    I wouldn't like it. I love every moment of Christmas and have learned to focus on what is important! It is a cathartic experience which prepares me for both the end to one year and the beginning of another. I would equate it with removing one of the four seasons.
