   What do men want for Valentine's Day?
   
   The holiday seem to be more geared towards women but do is there something that men look forward to?  What, if anything do men want?

      Some women want to do the same for their men but flowers, chocolates, and bears are not really manly...

   JThomp42's answer may be absolutely correct. My boyfriend and I don't do much, but he just wants to make sure I'm okay. I don't think he ever wants anything for himself, although I usually give him a card or write a poem, or a stuffed bear (he likes bears!). Still, on any gift-giving holiday, he would rather do something for me than have a gift for himself.

   Well I would assume some men just want to be free of the pressure of trying to please their partner on this holiday.  So often they try and then in a woman's eyes fall short.  I would hope they get credit for their efforts.
   
   I am kind of anti retail holidays and think couples should set their own celebrations at other times - make it special and unique and not what the rest of the world is doing because it is Feb. 14.

   Usually nothing, and I'm running out of ideas! I know it's different depending on the guy.  The best reaction I received for a Valentine's Day gift I gave my husband was the year I sent a special delivery to work for him, to arrive at lunch time.  The girls in the office were receiving flower deliveries, but he and the guys thoroughly enjoyed and got a kick out of his Valentine's Day special delivery, It was 4 dozen buffalo hot wings!

   We always had a nice dinner at home or out, then as a tradition, I would make big chocolate dipped strawberries with a bottle of champagne, then retire to some music and romance. It was a wonderful tradition we enjoyed for 21 years and I miss it! (This is V-Day #2 for me.)

   For this year, I bought concert tickets for the two of us. I'm sure he will love it.  Actually it just happened to come up. I don't usually make a big deal of Valentines Day, I think my husband appreciates that. We never go to dinner on V day, it's always too crowded everywhere. He likes it if I cook a special meal, he usually gives me candy or flowers, but if he overlooks it, that's fine with me.

   All the flowers and candies and fancy dinners we line up for Valentines are all ways we can show our affection/devotion to our significant other. Most guys don't need a box of chocolates or a teddy bear in response to feel loved. Just being told that they're loved in return is pretty nice.
   
   But that said, a man in a committed healthy relationship probably already knows how the woman in his life feels about him. And so, the best gift he can receive is really a warm and enthusiastic physical expression of that love.

    Men want to be happy and for their lover to be happy as well. As long as their love are happy, they are happy.
