I need some ideas for Christmas dinner, I'm tired of the usual traditional stuff that's served every year.

How funny!  We decided no turkey this Christmas, so we're doing Lasagna, Chicken Parm, and a couple of other Italian themed dishes.

Try looking for another country or culture.

My husband who is not the most food adventuress person the world is going to give the Austrian Specialty a try. If we can find an affordable goose in Alabama.

Nut and lentil loaf with roasted seasonal vegetables, colcannon and a really good red wine gravy.

We're thinking corned beef and cabbage with the traditional boiled potatoes and carrots. The dish should go nicely with the Valentine's Day flag I just hung on the front porch. lol

One year we had an outdoor fish fry, with grouper, shrimp, fries, hushpuppies, and slaw. Several years hubby smoked a crown roast of pork, and I filled the center with dried fruit and used a glace. It was awesome!

I hope ours turns out just like this... I'm not doing the cooking, my dad is and it usually does turn out great.  Here is the recipe that accompanies that pic.  http://www.wizardrecipes.com/crown-roast-of-pork/

    Here's some alternatives we've tried:
-Goose - was very tough - very difficult to cook.
    -Prime Rib - yum
    -Duck - yum
-Turducken - a duck stuffed in a chicken stuffed in a turkey with cajun stuffin -yum yum yum yum
    -Salmon - yum
