    What is the difference between Beggar's Night and Halloween?

    I heard about Beggar's Night for the first time two days ago on the local news. I don't understand the difference between it and Halloween.

    Perhaps Beggar's Night could be the religious community's answer to Halloween -- as it isn't based on paganism. Does anyone know? And when did Beggar's Night become common?

    This is just another example of people over thinking Halloween way too much. Halloween is just a couple of hours out of one night of an entire year, that little children look forward to dressing up in a costume, and getting a little bit of free candy. It's beyond me why people have nothing better to do these days then to worry about Halloween. We all did it when we were younger, and now it's their turn to go trick or treating. P.S. Life and Luxury, I'm directing this answer to the stupid term beggar's night, and certainly not to you. Peace smile
