What is the first Christmas decoration you put up each year?
Do you put up your tree first? Garlands? Wreaths? Outside decorations?
I have a wreath that was my mom's. I put it up every year no matter what on the front door. Tree sometimes. Lights if I have time in the front. Some were stolen one year and I have been discouraged by that. Even though I may not have a tree I break out the fancy tree bulbs given to me by relatives and friends placing them in the living room. I have a tree about 6" tall I take to work with lights and all. I place it on my desk. I got it on Ebay. The lights I found there too in the doll house items. LED lights run on a AA battery.
The tree. The biggest trouble should be put up first so everything else will be easier.
Very good point! Assembling the tree and putting the lights on it are the most tedious part of decorating. I love hanging the ornaments though!
That depends on how many ornaments you have! Growing up, my family had four trees to hold MOST of our ornaments. We still kept seven boxes unopened.
I don't have a set order of what gets put up first. Basically, it's just whatever comes out of the attic first!

How soon do you put up your Christmas decorations? Are you the type of person who strings lights and puts your tree up the day after Thanksgiving? Or do you wait until closer to Christmas?

Some simple to make, home made table decorations for Christmas.I would love some ideas for table decorations this Christmas. I would love to make my own crackers, but have no clue how. Any gift ideas to go inside of them, and some fancy table displays that are easy to make would be great

Has anyone ever had problems having a Christmas tree and a puppy? My puppy (Ruby) is now 14 months old (the sweetest girl in the world) but I am pretty sure the ornaments on a Christmas tree, the lights, and actually the tree itself, may be too much of a temptation for her. I have no idea what to do.
