What is the first Christmas decoration you put up each year?

Do you put up your tree first? Garlands? Wreaths? Outside decorations?

I have a wreath that was my mom's. I put it up every year no matter what on the front door. Tree sometimes. Lights if I have time in the front. Some were stolen one year and I have been discouraged by that. Even though I may not have a tree I break out the fancy tree bulbs given to me by relatives and friends placing them in the living room. I have a tree about 6" tall I take to work with lights and all. I place it on my desk. I got it on Ebay. The lights I found there too in the doll house items. LED lights run on a AA battery.

That is nice that you put your mom's wreath every year. I like the little Christmas trees too. Even at home they make a great display piece if you aren't in the mood to go "all-out" for Christmas.

The tree. The biggest trouble should be put up first so everything else will be easier.

Very good point! Assembling the tree and putting the lights on it are the most tedious part of decorating. I love hanging the ornaments though!

That depends on how many ornaments you have! Growing up, my family had four trees to hold MOST of our ornaments. We still kept seven boxes unopened.

I don't have a set order of what gets put up first. Basically, it's just whatever comes out of the attic first!

That is pretty much how all of my decorating goes. I always swear that the I will be organized next year, but even I don't believe myself after this long!

Cute!  We used to make an advent calendar every year and hang it. It was a nice tradition! Thanks for answering!
