Why is " Veteran's Day " not celebrated as a legal holiday ?
There are other holidays such as : July 4th, President's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day..so why do we not honor our Veteran's ?
Actually, I believe it is. Banks and other Government offices are closed today, which makes it a legal holiday.
That was my thinking, too. It only happened today because 11/11 fell on Sunday.
Schools are open...and there doesn't seem to be much attention directed on this day of honoring soldiers present or past ....

Should the date of the 9/11 become a holiday (like Veteran's Day and Memorial Day)?If yes, should it be a federal or state holiday?

Why is it that the holiday season seems to be the most stressful time of the year?Shouldn't it be a happy fulfilling occasion?

Do you think holidays no longer hold any meaning?Tomorrow is Memorial Day in the U.S., but to me and a lot of other people, it's a day off at work. Have holidays lost their meaning? What could help us bring back the meaning in holidays like Memorial Day?
