What do you think about the commercialization of Halloween?
Halloween in the United States is big business. Plans for costumes and parties begin a month before the actual day (October 31). Do we spend too much from this minor holiday?
It has become like all holidays, way too commercialized. I mean, my lord we haven't even come to Halloween and Christmas decorations, trees, etc. are already out at Wal-Mart. Which brings me to the meaning of holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving. We have forgotten what these holidays really mean to us and have allowed retailers to make this so.
I agree with your comments about forgetting the meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas. It seems like Halloween has been expanded to include the whole month of October. Today is the 16th and people are getting ready for it.
Agreed! I remember when it wasn't thought of until around a week before.

Is Christmas too commercialized these days?I find that children have expectations these days, what they should or want to have instead of being thankful for a gift. Do you think the media, advertisement tries to capitalized on it? Or are parents to be responsible? What happen to values?
