    How do you celebrate Thanksgiving?

    People celebrate it in different ways. How have you celebrated Thanksgiving in the past?

    Hi Marie!  I used to hang out with family on Thanksgiving.  My grandmother always had a huge buffet for family.  When she stopped being able to do it any longer, a relative took it over at his house.  I used to go every year.  After my children were born, I started a new family tradition of my own.  I have a personal cookbook that I started with a mixture of my grandmother's recipes and my own.  I use that every year so that the children grow up with fond memories like I had.

    I make my own cranberry sauce, breads, and pies too.  I usually buy those bubbly juices like apple. 

    I usually have to start preparing the meal the day before, so I also created a worksheet which shows at what time to make each dish in order for them to come out all at the same time and hot. 

    Some years I've invited guests.  The town used to sponsor military personnel.  We have had sailors over at times.  But the town stopped doing that.

    The family congregates at my daughter's house for turkey with all the trimmings. We watch movies on the telly and sometimes play either video games or board games. We also plan our Christmas celebrations and menus.
