Nigerians are solidly united by the following: love of money, love of power, corruption, culture of impunity, passion for mediocrity, lack of focus and incessant national holidays. We are far more united by national holidays than any other factor. Whenever Christians are having their holidays Muslims are always there to celebrate with them. Same stride goes for Muslim holidays. If only we quantify the economic losses due to national holidays, we may adopt the Chinese work model. The Chinese work real hard and they don't go on holiday frequently. The Chinese holiday is once in a year!
I have heard more than one person suggest the Chinese work model. A totalitarian government is needed to make such a work model work.
I will accept a less efficient work model if indeed we are learning live in harmony with others and show respect to their belief to their celebration and custom and they counter by doing the same.
