Do you have someone to kiss at midnight tonight, New Year's Eve?
In the United States, it is a custom here to kiss someone at midnight and wish them a "Happy New Year" and so do you have someone to kiss at midnight to bring in the New Year? If you are not from the U.S., what are some of your customs on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day? Thank you for answering and have a Happy New Year. XXXX
My two kids and I stay up to watch the ball drop in New York City and at midnight, we all give each other a kiss and a big group hug. Even when we were first married, my husband never wanted to stay up. So I just enjoy the moment with the two most precious kids in the world!
Awesome, KDeus! I think that is the best way evet to bring in the New Year. Happy New Year, Faith Reaper
I hope your New Year brings many more blessings and much love! Happy New Year!
Yes, but I better not. I'm recovering from the flu and I don't think he'd be very appreciative of my sharing that . He's been taking such great care of me though I wish I could give him a big kiss to show my appreciation. Maybe in a few days lol.
Yes I do have some special people in my life to kiss, they are my husband and kids. We will also be ushering the the New Year in church, as we give thanks for the past year and seek God's blessing and direction for the New Year.
Hello Dviews, I am so glad you are blessed with your husband and kids. Thank you for sharing of the lovely way you are ushering in the New Year! God bless you and yours in the new year, Faith Reaper
What a wonderful way to ring in the new year! Happy New Year, Dviews!
You might find this sad and/or gross, but I have my cat. No - not that kind of kiss. Just a kiss on his head. Hey why not? For this year he's the only part of my family that will be at my house.
Hi sheila, I do not find that sad or gross in the least and in fact I think it is precious and sweet as our pets are a part of our family indeed! Happy NewYear, Faith Reaper
sheilamyers, I also think that's very special! I adopted a cat this year and she will also be receiving a kiss as well as the dog. Pets are our family! Happy New Year!
The world becomes a darker and colder place when we can't take the time for the kitties. I love them too.
That's true Borsia. I just noticed the ad that they placed on this question? Strange lol
I will be kissing my husband and two beautiful children tonight, while we celebrate the dropping of the Idaho Potato. Go Spuds!

dragonflycolor, I've never heard of dropping the Idaho Potato so I Googled it! How interesting! Thank you for sharing this! Happy New Year to you and your family!
No, but I wish I did. I've never really been into the partying on New Year's Eve; but having someone to kiss at midnight is something I would really like, at least once.
Hi LasrRoseofSummer, yes, having someone to kiss at midnight is nice and that partying is not all that great really, but having someone special in your life is wonderful.
LastRoseofSummer, I hope you do have a Happy New Year!
Yes, I hope your New Year is full of many blessings and much love! Happy New Year!
Yes my beautiful GF is here with me and it wouldn't be New Years with out a little midnight whoopee, or a lot in our case.
Yes Faith, just my wife and I this year. It is also a custom here in Australia to kiss people, but goes one further, New Year is renowned for Kiss A Cop. Everyone goes for the closest police officer and kisses them. The only time of year you could get away with it.
Hi Jodah, It is wonderful to have a spouse to kiss indeed. Wow, what a custom there in Australia to kiss the closest police officer ...LOL!!! I have never heard of such. I bet the female officers run for the hills! hehehe
hahaha Good one ... well, was there one near by?

I do not know if this is a proper way to address this, but I am making a plea for a call to prayer for all those affected in this most dangerous storm's path (many here on HP, our friends, i.e., Colin a.k.a. Epigramman, Joseph De Cross, a.k.a. Lord De Cross, Mary (tillsontitan) from NYC and many...

No, I'm not against people celebrating the New Year, but I hate all the noise. My little dog goes bananas when she hears all the bangs. I have to give her tranquilizers. My neighbors shoot their fire crackers all night long!
