    Easter Baskets: Pre-Filled or No?

Do you prefer to purchase a store's pre-filled, often-themed Easter baskets for your children or put together your own?

I like to make up my own. The pre-filled ones usually have too much candy, and I don't think that is healthy. Kids don't need that much sugar. I buy for my grand daughter, so I put things in there like arts and crafts, crayons, chalk and "artsy" things. She loves to draw. When my kids were younger, I would put things in it that they liked, or the fad at the moment that they were collecting. Personally, I think it makes for a much more memorable gift to personalize them for the child. Otherwise, it's just a bunch of candy.

If I had kids, I'd fill them myself. By doing that, I could put in the candy I know they like and add small gifts specific to them.

When my kids were little I would fill the baskets myself with candy and stuff that I knew they liked. Some of the pre-filled baskets have cheap candy and toys that are a waste of money.
