A Wilderness Experience of Loneliness and Fear
From Tears to Triumph
During my many years as a born again Christian, I have had more than one wilderness experience where I felt extremely lost and lonely as expressed in the following piece, "A Cry In The Wind." It is only by continuously growing my relationship with God and maintaining increased intimacy have I matured through each test. The knowledge that my Savior Jesus Christ LIVES gives me the strength to endure and face each day as stated in the song, "Because He Lives I can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone. Because I know He holds my future and life is worth the living just because He lives."
(Psalm 34:17) "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."
A Cry In The Wind
I CRIED out!
But no one answered.
I REACHED out!
But no one was there.
LISTEN to me!
Someone … anyone.
I was heard, but no one listened.
I was touched, but no one cared.
My thoughts and feelings were misunderstood.
I had needs … to be understood… to be held.
O God! Have mercy, please listen …
I NEEDED God to dispel my frustrations
and to fill all my needs.
To HELP ME from withdrawing
into the overwhelming emptiness!
Lord … I sensed You
calming my anxiety and confusion.
Father … I felt Your love and saw Your light
shining throughout the dark tunnel.
Savior … I listened to Your instructions for my life.
Holy Spirit … I yielded to Your direction
and held on till my blessing... because You,
my Friend was attentive to my CRY.
"The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; You're mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands." (Psalms 138:8)
