Short Story: Daddy's Love Part(4) Three Strikes!

Updated on March 1, 2012

Strike Three!

It was pretty dark outside, and an unusual one in this tight knit neighborhood. It was quite strange to see a police car parked outside of any of the homes in this community, without someone else knowing at least a little something. It's unusual here.

During the last incident which happened here years ago, the news spread like wildfires through the community and they all quickly banded together. These boys were like the neighborhood own sons. It was a shock to all, and they showed the condolences, and it was unimaginably what this community did.

Here they are again, with an even curious sense of urgency to see these police cars standing in the front of their neighbor’s home, they have been there for sometime and no one knew anything. While standing outside, some of the neighbors were discussing the incident they had heard about at the Chinese Restaurant in their area. The both owners were shot and killed and a young lady walked in on the incident and was kidnapped at gunpoint. But they had no idea who was involved and that's all they knew.

Now it seems that everyone was aware that something of interest was happening and lights were on in just about all of the immediate houses. Almost in every house there was someone looking out or standing on the porch, looking in the direction of Catherine’s house, it was quite easy to observe because of how the houses were situated in this particular community.

Now the ambulance pulled up, and quickly the paramedics ran up the stairs, the door was left open by the police so that they can quickly come up, they heard the voices of the police saying up here! After about Ten minutes later, they were coming through the front door.

At this time there were a street filled with neighbors asking all kinds of questions as the ambulance took off. The police stayed around a little longer and tried to see what they could do to help the neighbors understand a little clearer, because they knew exactly the type of neighborhood it is, and did not want any complaint of rude and not cooperating, with those in this community, and to make matters worse, one of their Chiefs lives here also.

They did the best they could and also got some great information themselves. The only pet they those neighbors had was, two cats and a bird , in comes the neighborhood voluntary pet sitter , she said, that he can be of assistance as needed, and one of the members of the association , who had keys for all the properties had agreed to help with the pets.

Now they understood that this incident involved the shooting at the restaurant, which they saw on TV and that it involved their daughter also. Now the news about everything quickly spread through the neighborhood as people were on their way to their respective houses, suddenly this loud shout rang through the air loudly HELPPPPPPPPP!

The police and all the neighbors immediately ran in the direction of the sound, and saw that a he neighbor was holding this young person in her hand. Of those who got there first, no one knew who it was, the neighbor said that she was mumbling something, and before she could ask her what the matter is, she just fell into her arms.

The police quickly took over from the lady and radioed for an ambulance, the police asked all the neighbors to step back a little, for the ambulance will soon arrive. It was a little dark on that corner of the street. The clothes on this person were muddy and the face was and shin was all scratched. Quickly came the ambulance and the paramedics jumped out and ran over to where the police was, the person was obviously a girl and she was still muffling something, but no one could understand, they strapped her up, and off the went without knowing who the person was. The police gave the man who had the keys, the name of the hospital and also to his number and promised to stay in touch, they left.
