Goodbye Lover- Goodbye Friend: A short poem

Updated on June 5, 2014

Hiking Photos

With broken love-

darkness falls,
bitter talk
in every call.
There's not a string
left to mend-
Goodbye lover
Goodbye friend.
It's time to end
our polar feuds.
I know you know
I'm not good for you.
Quit your lying
you know I'm right.
You can't ignore
the way we fight.
It's time to end
this game we play.
There's not room
left in our day.
Our time is spent.
Our clock is dead.
Goodbye lover
Goodbye friend.

Hi, I came across this poem while hub hopping, I think that's what they call it. lol. I really liked this poem. nice rhythm and flow. I can feel the pain behind the words. Many of us can relate. Good work.

Thank you Ann. I appreciate the great comment, I wasn't even aware the Bible mentioned that.

Unequaled yoking, that's the way the Bible describes it. Aggravation and never working things out is a burden. Sometimes it's best to let things go.

Like the way you put it. AD

Well there are some beautiful places here and there's something exciting about being in a new place with unfamliar faces. Your hubber friend bucket sound like a great idea! If not for any other reason, it's a great excuse to travel. Everyone is from everywhere.

But yes of course, being bias- Oregon is a beautiful place to start!

In my little world where everything works perfectly, I would be okay to travel and with my daughter meet with you like family does to tour these amazing places...

:D It is good to day dream...

Bucket list one day perhaps... List of hub friends to visit...

Hey Moms- The pictures are taken in the Columbia River Gorge here in Oregon, on the Eagle Creek Trail. Yeah it was an amazing place, risky at moments but beautiful no doubt.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. It's always good to read you too, you have some compelling work!

These are your photos again. Where were you? They are beautiful.

The poem is also great and necessary at times. Always nice to read and be read by you...

Citrinin kind of love? Way too toxic, anyway. I've been there. So quit fighting & get going hehe. This is a true 'goodbye' poem. I like it very much, LV5. Up, awesome & beautiful!
