He Loves Her - She Loves Him NOT...

Updated on April 28, 2013
He Loves Her, She Loves Him Not..
He Loves Her, She Loves Him Not..

She envisions poor Andrew being punished,

He invited it often you see,

Sixth-grade class clown and bully savant,

Just her luck he sat right behind SHE!

Spit-balls his signature go-to,

He wasn't beneath chopping hair,

She also learned quickly to check without fail,

After countless at-TACKS on her chair!

Lucky for her she could run like the wind,

At recess he'd chase and he'd tease.

The girls would sing "Andrew loves Kar'n",

He was on her like some damned disease!

The Teacher - poor soul - did try to contain,

As admonishment fast turned to threat.

Whilst Andrew continued his torment,

It'd be she that would break into sweat!

OOPS!
OOPS!

How her twelve-year-old heart yearned for Ronnie,

His Cuteness three desks to her left,

Oh, how she did suffer in silence,

His cold shoulder did leave her bereft!

Undaunted, she tested each little girl wile,

O'er two years he held her at bay.

She just learned the key to this puzzle,

Seems the Ronnie she loved turned out GAY!

(Phew...)

@Susan: Wow.. i actually gave that idea some thought before commenting! lol..Wouldn't it be cool if we COULD control who we fell in love with..

i do believe the idea has merit...i wonder what the collateral damage would be altho.

For every action there is a reaction - perhaps we wouldn't suffer enough to actually learn anything? Dunno...lol

      love you sweet Sue!

I believe you've 'worked through ' this very embarrassing moment in time - just fine!

To be able to share it so wonderfully - and with such humor - tells me this didn't scar you for life - just left a lasting bruise for you to poke a little fun at..

Hi ImKarn23... How did I miss this gem of days gone by... young love is so special and yet in the end looking back sure glad I did not pursue some of them. Funny Class Reunions later in life make you wonder what you were thinking... Just have to love the memories is all....

      Hugs as always Eh!

This made me laugh, but also made me remember a situation when I was in the fourth grade. The difference is--I was the one doing the chasing, egged on by my three best friends who knew how ready I was to take a dare.

I chased Sammy all over the playground at recess, caught him and gave him a kiss. (I don't recall that he actually struggled at that point.) It was only when everyone standing around (including my friends) laughed at me that I realized the extent of my gullibility and foolishness. It was pretty difficult to live down that episode!

Dunno if you've heard, but - i shan't be writing on the hub much any longer..

IF you'd like to still find me - Cloudexplorer(Mike) and Mark Bruno were kind enough to help me set up a blog..

That way i'm only a simple 'click' away!

Imkarn, yeah...I know that story. Though it didn't work out quite that way for me- ours was a mutual attraction at age 4! And I had bobbed hair - so no pulling. But I remember that kid, chasing my friend around- and teasing her for drinking milk at lunch break. The heart breaks do come though- whether he chase she or otherwise....;)

I confess that I'd expected this to be some dim, dark abusive revelation! Shows how clever you are at misleading and then leading-by-the-nose to where you want to take me! haha. It's such a lark!

I could relate, once I caught on. I had some unwanted admirers while I languished in unrequited love for Kenneth from age 7 till he finally really noticed me at 16! Oh, what victory at last! haha.

Meanwhile I'd been mercilessly teased and tormented by others. One who pulled my pigtails and chided me about my 'dignity'; and there was George Thurmond who carried my books walking home from school and championed me against those dastardly creeps, Clarence and Ludolph Cross, who'd follow us along on bikes, trying to flirt with me. I sorta liked Wesley Sloan, who played one of the 3 wise kings in the Christmas pageant, but that never panned out. George Thurmond eventually became the District Judge who officiated Kenneth's 5 marriages and divorces to and from his wife, June, whom he married in New York when I couldn't leave school , marry and go with him to his new Air Force assignment up there! (true story). Life! It's kinda nice to recall the near-misses that didn't materialize, even if some disasters did! haha

Love your straightforward style of writing. Such a cute poem, a lot of people could relate to this!

LOL. Loved it! My favorite stanza...."He was on her like some damned disease!" Great pics as well...once again. I'm wondering what takes longer....the pic hunt, or writing the poem. And I had to lol at Obama and Romney kissing. Oops!...really? You're as funny as you are clever. Voted up and shared.

My wife was quite attracted to the lead actor (Bobby) in the Sondheim musical, Company in which she had a part while living in Germany. She could not figure out why he had no reaction at all until she found out he was gay. They all became good friends.

      Great hub!

And it just goes to show.

LOL, now that is funny and so full of truth, as I can relate and remembers those days of when . . . I remember sitting at my little desk and those little folded up love notes one would get . . . from those whom you did not desire to receive such of course. I would do my best to throw them back, but they just kept on insisting I read. For some reason, I would attract them like a magnet. LOL

      Voted up +++

Thanks for the memories and laughs, Faith Reaper

My first thought was "funny"! But now I am wondering, is this your story?

I met my husband when I was 12...and I was the one teasing him...the good thing, he didn't remember when we started to go out together when we were 18 :-) Still very happy after almost 37 years of marriage :-))) I can't believe that we know each other since almost 46 years!

      Voted up and awsome!
