Monsters Inside of Us All

Updated on April 24, 2013

The truth of the matter is this

There are monsters inside of us all

All different kinds

In all sorts of forms

Some we know all too well

They show up every day

And never seem to disappear

Others we only see from time to time

Perhaps in our dreams

Or in nearly unconscious moments

Still others we've yet to discover

But we must not be afraid of our monsters

They need to be acknowledged

Meeting them is simply a part

Of embracing the adventure of life

We all have demons and angels

And the battle is never over

Until the grave

The only difference is that some people

Have the courage to meet them

And others avoid them

And miss out on the true joy

Of self discovery

And victory

Interesting I guess we all at one time or another fight with inner demons. Well expressed.

Interesting poem, if you're not facing life, you're missing something.

Our inner monsters are pretty angry, or afraid? Keeping our primal demons at bay is a full time job sometimes, thanks for the reminder. Beautiful hub, voted up!
