Souls Entwined - Poem
Though our hearts be torn apart
Our souls are forever entwined
For you have gone your way, and I have gone mine
I used to listen to your heartbeat
You once listened to mine
And together we danced to their rhythm
Could it be that our souls still dance?
Through the cosmos,
Skipping through the darkness and gliding past the stars?
Perhaps not to the same rhythm as once they did,
But could they dance still?
Upon the clouds and along the Milky Way
Your heart beats a different rhythm now
As does mine
And time has changed us, still
Our souls are forever entwined
Dancing through time and the darkness of night
As a distant star with its twinkling light
