Standing At The Crossroads...a poem

Updated on January 26, 2013

Arriving at the crossroads

Only two ways can choose

Can’t see beyond the signs

The choice is win or lose

On one side the clouds

Mystify the view

On the other side the trees

Block the journey through

I’m standing at the crossroads

Wonder which way to go

Standing at the crossroads

How far does Your love flow

Fast forward 10 years

Walking through the clouds

Cold dark & lonely

The mist made me doubt

As the fog burns away

The cliff draws near

Didn’t see the edge

And the sight strikes fear

I’m standing at the crossroads

Wonder which way to go

Standing at the crossroads

How far does Your love flow

Head down the other path

Crawling through the trees

Stumps crowd my steps

Sun can’t shine through the leaves

Made it out of the woods

Sun shining on my skin

Deserted plain with no life

No refreshment, just wind

I’m standing at the crossroads

Wonder which way to go

Standing at the crossroads

How far does Your love flow

As I looked again at the journeys that were made

Wings like eagles carried me off that cliff

And the desert sprang to life once the rains sent me adrift

Keep the hope alive

Keep the faith alive

I’m standing at the crossroads

Don’t matter where I go

Standing at the crossroads

How far does Your love flow
