The Arrival Of Middle Age~
The clock is ticking
I hate delays
I’m seldom late but
Hush, I have to rush
In pursuit of the day.
What’s with the time
And to be always on the dot
Can I not stay still and chill
Think not of the arrival of time
Take it easy, do as I pleased?
But the clock is ticking
I hear the bustle and the sound
I say sky is the limit
But my days are limited
So, I run in a flash!
The loss of youth
Vanity and sanity at times
‘Though part of growing old
I kid you not is quite sad
‘Though not that bad.
So, while I gaze upon the rainbow
Of life that brightens my heart
Why not embrace the flaw and glow
End not in a lonesome misery
Walk along for the life so full of joy.
With the dwindling days
Of undesirable yet appearing age
Wrinkles make their way
Behind the shadow of solitude
Lie fond memories of my youth.
There in the sky my dream inscribed
Suspended between time and space
Behind the clouds that cloak my face
Of things past and the ultimate fate
Here comes time…tick, tock, tick, tock!
I’ll never know the purpose
Would you? Can you tell?
And when I finished my journey
What could be the reason or
Would I ever reach the end?

Some people are old at 18 and some are young at 90...time is a concept that humans created. One thing is for sure, I'm well past my legal age and I'm smiling.
Here comes the arrival of middle age
Tongue-in-cheek, do I celebrate?
And when I blow the candles on my cake
What do I wish? Think, not in a haste
For I am no longer in a rat race.
But wait, this is middle age
Am I getting near to the place I call home?
I’ll never know but time will tell
Grab a moment or let it pass
Try to keep up with the pace.
Unblemished mind is all I wish
To reflect on the things I know
To remember the good times of days gone by
And look ahead for brighter days
Embracing hope thy will be done.
The proverbial march of time is here
But only God can tell if it is the end
And in his time I will come to know
Here comes the arrival of middle age
Fret not…tick, tock, tick, tock!
