You're Just a Pawn
Game of Life
You’re just a pawn
Life is a game of chess
You have to set all the pieces
You have to study your move
Or your opponent will make its groove
The pawn is being arranged
To place itself against the adversary
Despite the danger it encountered
It moves straight on, into the melee
The Titans clash
The swords unending slash
In their inevitable whiplash
Never minding whom to bash
The pawn is at the center of the competition
It serves as a diversion
Awaiting for the final decision
The decree of the inquisition
It can do nothing but to accept
All its life lies on that verdict
Whether to accept its fate
And know the ending is checkmate
Sad to note that its life is not on its hand
But from the one waving the magic wand
If it sends forth some gust
And blow off its head with a blast
Then let’s just say he has lived his life
Being at the center of the strife
Carried by the sands of time
He’s just a scapegoat of the mime...
