Why is it every time I write a hub my hub score goes down?
Don't know either .My does the same thing to . Very good question I will be watching for the answers too . I have just put a few hubs up because I've been mostly taking care of medical issues with my daughter. And this is what I noticed too, is that my hub score went from 79-80 to 85 -87 and staying there umm. interesting ...
Essentially, I believe it is a formula within the algorithm of the Hub Score. Like all formulas, it could be refined and perfected.
This frustrates me to no end. I don't understand why there isn't a grace period so the new Hub has a chance to mature without affecting the overall score.
Helping the Hubber get quality content is the goal of the Hub Score, then why isn't there a 24 hour grace period on the new hub bringing the entire score down?
Great question - this one is a pet peeve of mine. Thank you for asking! I look forward to hearing the answers.
I thought that it was only happening to me...
The more i submitted the more my score goes down.(
I would agree with GmaGoldie that it's to do with the overall formula, and if you publish a hub right away then it's starting score is usually around 50 which might be a reason for bringing down your overall author score.
I find that it helps to let wait a couple of days before publishing a hub. A hub score can increase quite a bit even while it sits unpublished. If you aim for a hub score of 60-65 before publishing it then I believe it might have less of a negative impact on your overall score. I could be wrong, but it seems to help me. I hope it helps you too!
This confuses and frustrates they hell out of me too. Here is my theory. It is a combination of things: Is your hub 600 words or more? Do you have original content, sometimes a picture download from the web you pasted can raise a flag. How many keywords do you have that are relevant? This is a biggy. Don't throw any word as a tag, phrases are better. Think of it like this, how would look up your topic? How involved are you in the hub community? Again this will affect it.
And it is good to let the hub marinate for awhile let it get to a 60 or so, and if it doesn't move at all, then go back and fiddle with it.
Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. can be testy and hormonal what they like so one day it's good, the other day your are the anti christ.
Buy a magic eight ball, when in the ultimate doubt use that.....
Well when you publish the hub the normal rating a hub starts with is about 50 and thus this brings down your hubpages profile score . But as more people start visiting your written hubs , the hub score increases and thus it in turn increases your hubpages profile score as well
It's not only to do with your own hubs, but also your activity within the hub community.
I do not know, but I think when we add a new hub then the number of hubs increases and if it does not score good points then the total score decreases, but later on it regain its score.
As it has already been said, it definitely has everything to do with the starting score of a new hub. However, a grace period would really be nice
My score was in the 90's when I wasn't doing anything... Now it's on a free fall...and I just published a hub?
Maybe ansewering this question will give me a bounce...

I took a hiatus for awhile from Hub Pages! However, in the past week or so, I have added new hubs participated in forums, asked a question or two, participated with the Hub Hopper, have read some Hubs, yet my Hubber Score is lower than it was when I was doing nothing. I don't get it!

Pretty much without exception my Hub score will drop two, three or more points within an hour or two of first posting a Hub. Then it gradually, eventually goes up again. For example, today, March 31, 2011, I posted a Hub and my score dropped like a rock three points. I don't understand this. I...

My Hubber Score has been very stable in the mid 90's (94 to 96) for at least a year. In the last few days since I published a new hub it has been dropping, and it is now down to 90. Also in the week since I published my new hub, I've been more active on HP with respect to getting comments and...

Why do poems even though well written have a low hub score?Poems are not really lengthy and most poems carry less than 1250 words. Why don't poems have a different rating than a regular article?

Hello everyone. I am new here on Hubpages and I am excited to be here! I hope this is not a silly question, as I am still acclimating myself here on Hubpages. My question is this-- provided that one produces quality hubs, how long does it take to build up a decent hub score? 2 hubs? 10 hubs? Here is...
