Have you ever read a book and then you finish it and it leaves you saying "What now?"

Don't you hate it when the author ends a book and it leaves you wondering, and theres no sequel.

for the best book you will ever read that leaves you with that, "What now," feeling -- and i suppose you'll have a billion, "Perhaps the following..." ideas...

    REBECCA by daphne du maurier.

incredible book.  the most incredible story i ever read.

I hate it. It makes me want to throw the book. But for some reason those are the best ones.

yes! I know its the new "hip" thing to do. End with a cliffhanger.. I have found my self actually say "what the f&*$!" out loud. The worst part is waiting for the sequel just to find out there isn't one.

Have you seen it in movies too? Its really annoying

This happens both in films and books, if any of you have read books like The Reluctant Fundamentalist or seen the classic movie The Italian Job both leave you to make your own decision about how the story ends.  Frustrating or genius??!!

I have read a few books that have had this "what now kind of feeling." In fact I read a book with a sequel. I tend to read books with sequels I enjoy having something to look forward too. Unlike the book I am going to mention. "Innocent Mage." It was a sequel, both books were on the counter at the bookstore, so I picked one up and read it. It abruptly ended  after 634! pages.
I thought, guess I should get the sequel(my own fault after such a bad read) see if anything happens. After another 700! grueling pages I wish I had that portion of my life back to read a better book.

Dame Agatha Christie originally wanted no more Hercule Poirot novels written after her death. However, a new installment appears at the end of 2014. Hercule Poirot is with us in the 21st century. read more
