Is creativity in writing associated with the introvert nature?

   Is creativity in writing associated with the introvert nature?
   
   I have observed that quite a lot of people who are creative in writing, are introvert. The degree of being introvert is higher in them. They love seclusion for the most of the time. They tend to pursue their passion of writing vehemently which happens in the backdrop of isolation. What are your thoughts on this?

   I can speak for myself and few close ones, yes, they were creative and all introverts to an extreme degree. They were social outcasts. I knew this friend of mine, he's a musician, his girlfriend is a painter, I myself write and so did my best friend. All  4 of these characters love to live by themselves mostly. We generally avoid pubic gatherings etc.

      True. It kinda hampers the thinking process if one mingles with another person of different frequency. They are in a different realm.

   I haven't really noticed if I am or not. I do know that H.P. Lovecraft was a huge introvert and spent most of his life indoors. He only left if he had to and usually with a large coat on covering his face.

   When I was in college, I took this psychological test that said I was an extreme introvert. I, however, do not find myself to be creative in writing. I prefer numbers over words.

      Creativity in writing is connected to the introvert nature. May not be vice versa. Also, I believe that when one is into numbers then the creativity can be manifested as you go deep into the numbers or rather math(This is just an abstract thought).

   Don't know as I can agree with that. I've seen writers who are very gregarious and extroverted.
   
   It's probably easier to be a writer if you're introverted, though. To write productively, you'll need to spend a lot of time on your own pounding those keys and being comfortable with your own company can help with that...

   I think, writers as a whole are more introverted than extroverted. However, I think the statistics for successful writers are just the opposite. Anybody who puts a pencil to paper can call themselves a writer, but to call yourself a successful writer, it requires a great deal of commitment, business savvy, and self promotion. So, it's almost like the writing side of things is complimented by introvert personalities, but the publishing side is complimented by the extrovert. It's not easy for an introvert to stand up and give readings, or sit at a table signing books. So, I definitely think the line between writer and published writer marks some pretty large differences.
