How do you come up with content for your blog?

Do you watch news sources, and blog about their material? Or is your content generated from your own ideas, or somewhere else?

If you want a blog that draws in readers you must chose a topic and for the most part stick to it. Some people blog about the news or politics, some people blog about their struggles with illness, some people blog about their parenting challenges. I have two blogs - one I wrote as I was traveling across the country to record my journey, and another I use to document my adventures breeding chickens. Both have a very different group of readers. I hope this helps.

A combination of both.  I am very well versed in metaphysical and natural health topics, so most of my hubs and blogs draw on my personal knowledge and passion in these areas.  However, I also use news sources and cite information that lends credibility to what I write - studies or other evidence etc.

I think a good blend of personal experience and passion along with other sources makes the best posts.  You can also share information about a new discovery or news story item that coincides with your topic and then share your thoughts on that, enhancing it.

I just blog about one of my hobbies. I like to play computer games. So my blog contains reviews right now. I usually play and will post how it went and go into details on what strategies worked, any horrible mistakes, and favorite spots to set up in fps and games like world of tanks.

    It comes pretty naturally.

Reviews are a great idea!  I hadn't thought of that, since I usually write about science, but it seems like it makes for really great content!

I prefer the idea of "stick to what you know". I write a lot about video games. usually ideas, secrets, and even review one every Wednesday. I find, and play, each game as much as possible, then do as I can with it. I'm hoping to get my adsense ready soon, so I can make money to buy even more games to write about!

I am also hoping to get my AdSense going, but have not yet met the requirements.  I write a lot about science, but I'm struggling to increase my followership, since my target audience is somewhat narrow.  Any ideas?

I wouldn't worry as much about followers. Rather, try to keep steady traffic. most of my reads/views/whatever come from google, as opposed to hubpages. the same could be said for my girlfriends blog, as well
