Can anyone tell me if there re better sites than hubpages with better traffic and more pay?
Hubpages seems to becoming quite unstable
All web content sites are just beggars and there are no choosers! Most of them have already died or in death bed. Be happy that Hubpages is still breathing. I don't know when the doctor would call for oxygen!
But having been in web content writing in several sites for the past 6-7 years, I have seen one thing. HP people have quite some grit and they have always been fighting valiantly to survive. I hope they continue to do it.
Well said. The problem is the same on any content site (other than Youtube): too many writers and not enough readers. The writer-to-reader ratio in the US must be something like 10,000:1. Desirable topics seem to do well though.
You might try Craigslist under "writing gigs". I wouldn't give up on Hubpages though since it lets you keep your content. And your essays are easily-accessible to the public since they often appear near the top of the list on Google's search results when you type in the relevant key words.
I heard that Squidoo offered better pay for writing and we all know how that turned out. There is an earning threshold for online writers that, unfortunately, can't be crossed without destroying a business. I'd like to think that HubPages floats just below that threshold where they still turn a profit without people exploiting it into the ground. But time will tell. It's sad that writer's don't earn proportionally with the work load, but most of us knew that going in. We do it for the love of the craft and the sliver of hope that one day we'll be the next J. K. Rowling.

Hi everyone,Since Google's updates these past couple of months, I've noticed a significant traffic drop (about 20%). Every time I gain some traction and hope, it's a case of going back two steps again. I'm sure I'm not alone! I thought it might be a good idea to start a healthy discussion here to...

I know, I know, these kind of generic questions are asked too often. Believe me, I tried to look for an answer before posting it in here, but couldn't find one.So here it goes - Is there any one who is making more than $200 here? How much time did it take you to get there? Thank you in advance for...

There have been several theories about what content Google is penalising and rewarding in the search results but at the moment it does seem a bit random (from my end). Let's compare notes and hopefully we can see some common threads in there. What content of yours is holding on to its ranking and...

I have been thinking of leaving HubPages for a while now because of several reasons. With their latest ebay/amazon update I now have to reformat over 90 hubs (Some had not been published yet and I was waiting for Halloween). Rather than doing this I will use my time looking for a site and...

In his hub 'What We Don't Know About Google Panda?', Paul Edmondson points out that Google seems to expect sites to leap high above any bar that might reasonably be set for quality purposes.Paul seems less than happy with Google's attitude. He seems to think that if a page can somehow limp over...

The Future of Mother HubPagesFor the main HubPages site to have a healthy future, she needs to clean up her act. Let us give the old Mum HP a make-over. Two things only need to be done:1. vetting newcomers and2. delete unfeatured hubs1. A vetting system for newcomersHaving a vetting system for...
