Is offering a book for 99 cents on Amazon or other sites worth it?
Yes for two reasons...the first would be exposure and traffic to your website or blog. The second would have to deal with mathematics. If you self publish and charge $29.00 for your book and sell 5000 books that's pretty good but...if you sell 1 million books on Amazon for .99 that is fantastic. The numbers are coming in with the creation of Kindle and Nook, publishers were concerned that they would loose money but found sales to actually increase and profits increase. Great question.
I think the answer to that question is different for each writer. If it's a first book, or if you're looking to build a larger following, or you just want to reward the followers you already have, a 99 cent book might make sense.
Yes. Readers aren't very likely to purchase self published books, so the price of entry has to be very low; an impulse buy. And, as a self published author, it's more important to get your book out there, than it is to turn a profit.

Are there any sites that allow you to self-publish for free?We know there are many sites that will charge a nominal fee for self-publication;but are there any sites that will publish your work for free?

I recently started writing on Daily Two Cents to mitigate the whack-ness that is now Bubblews. Is Daily Two Cents a viable way to create quality backlinks back to my blog and HubPages articles? For instance if I wrote a small piece about global warming and link it back to my meatier hub...

I have been thinking of leaving HubPages for a while now because of several reasons. With their latest ebay/amazon update I now have to reformat over 90 hubs (Some had not been published yet and I was waiting for Halloween). Rather than doing this I will use my time looking for a site and...

Someone told me of a fairly new writing site called Two Cents Worth. It was started by two women and I think it is being patterned after Bubblews from what I have read. I checked out their site, but didn't spend a lot of time there.
