In Honor of April's Poetry Month
by Frank Atanacio
Lets String one along In honor of April Poetry Month Lets string one big long poem that will go from now until April 30th... Lets continue where the next poem left off.
A little game plan. ( or rules )
Frank Atanacio ( Starting Link )
He knew
As death grew,
The lights were dimmer,
As the darkness began to shimmer,
Eyes would glow
As the candles in back
Burnt low
And spirits sat as mourners
Massed together all in a row…
Jodah's verse (John Hansen)
Spirits sat as Mourners (April Poetry Month challenge by Frank Atanacio)
By Jodah
Deathly faces
No airs and graces,
Unblinking, cold, and grey
As they watched another join the Frey.
While the priest
Read God's holy word,
Challenging the evil beast
To try and steal another soul,
And empty husk upon which demons feast.

For the one who laid April here
Now April is the one that he should fear
He thinks because her body is encased
That she can't leave her resting place
Can you imagine his great surprise?
When April appears
Before his eyes
To confront him
For his Lies
by Shyron Shenko
I published My: The one who laid April Here
with Frank's verse, then John's (Jodah) verse then my verse.
Mine was un-featured and I went in and edited it.
I took off Frank and John's verse then republished.
Only to find my whole poem taken down.
Along with the comments
Why?????
Aw, I am sorry dear Shyron. I noticed another hubber who entered was also unpublished. I am trying to enter but cannot get past a title? Did you try to make it evergreen with at least 700 words, three legal photos and maybe add a video and poll?
I did not know that 700 words were required for a poem.
I don't know either, just that for it to be an evergreen hub, it has to have at least 700 words, I believe. But you are right about poetry most likely not having to have that many words as I see short poem published all of the time.. Do you remember if it said low quality or lack of engagement? I hope you try again and maybe look at the others who entered to follow a guideline possibly? Not sure.
Faith, thank you for trying to help. It said duplicate content. And I did it just like some of the others that I read. But I must have done something wrong because I think my was the only one unpublished.
You are so sweet to continue to help me work through this.
Shyron
This sux Shyron. Have you tried to publish a new hub with maybe just the verse you are following (mine in this case) and your own, with just a link to Frank's? You had a different title so that wasn't a problem. It sounds like a few people have had trouble with getting hubs published in the last couple of days. If you still can't get it up, I'd willingly include your verse on my hub with you as author, but then you wouldn't get credited for a new hub. Hope it works out.
You are so sweet Jodah, but if you did put my verse on your hub the you would probably get flagged as having duplicate material.
I am sure I did something wrong.
I took everything off except my verse, and I don't know what is going to happen, I hope a different moderator looks at my hub.
Hugs
Shyron
If it said duplicate, maybe try putting the others' poems in quotation marks and say "Sharing Frank's poem" or whomever's poem it may be. Well, I finally had gotten my issue with just trying to get a title so I could place content in the actual hub. Mine turned out to be my laptop but people in the forums helped me, but now I am wondering about being duplicate if I enter too? Seems there are a good bit who have published including the others' poems too? Hmmm I am sorry, I do hope there is a way to get your poem included.
I am so glad your problem was solved.
Please don't be afraid to enter this, it is fun and I am sure it will be straightened out.
I've been following Frank's poetry challenge with interest. What might help if you write a hub that includes any of the previous poems in the series is to add lots of words of your own so that the duplicate content becomes a smaller proportion of the hub. You could describe the poetry challenge in your own words, explain why you are taking part, explain why or how you chose the theme or plot for your own poem, and so on.
Quoting the previous poems is going to become more and more of a duplicate content problem as more poems are added to the sequence, though. Jodah's idea for solving this problem is good. You could add links to previous poems in the series instead of quoting them.
This is very helpful, AliciaC, for those who may want to enter throughout the month of April! Thank you very much for your great suggestions!
Alicia, thank you for your input on this, I removed all but my verse and linked to Frank and Jodah. I am afraid I am not as HP savvy as the rest of the hubbers on here, but hopefully I am getting there.
I do appreciate your efforts to help me on this issue.
Hugs and Blessings

The article in question was "Good Title and Caption Ideas for Content Creators". Here is the link to the unpublished page at least showing the url (https://discover.hubpages.com/technology/Caption-Ideas). I published this article on 2-21-22. There is usually a 1 day wait time for...

I awoke today to find that my 100% original work entitled, "A Forever Expanding Circle as an Analogy for Existence" was marked as DUPLICATE and had subsequently been UNPUBLISHED by hubpages. Is this because I also linked the contents of my 100% original article on another website (of all...

So, I understand I can't publish any content on here that I have used for another site. But can I publish on here first, then carry those articles over to another site? Is that allowed? Cause on the other sites I write for allow me to republish content on them... Also, I read that the hubs are...

Hubpages have developed a habit of keeping unpublishing my hubs for "linking to prohibited sites" - However, the particular hub in question which keeps repeatedly being unpublished does NOT contain any links whatsoever! It has been submitted, re-approved and then unpublished again...

Why those of us moving over from Squidoo should not try to transfer our lenses to HubPages manually:I just moved one of my recipes that's fairly new, and doesn't have a high search engine ranking, thinking I would use it as a way to become familiar with the HubPages tools. I deleted the Squidoo...
