Can anyone tell me how to get a creative writing position online - I've checked out sites like elanc

I've checked out sites like elance etc but have no idea how to submit a bid (how would I know if I'm competitive if all bids are sealed etc).  Anyone know of a way I can write for money online?

HubPages is obviously a great way to earn money once you have accounts with Google's Adsense, Amazon, Kontera and Ebay.  The more traffic your hubs get = more likely ads will get clicked = revenue for you!

AssociatedContent.com is a similar site, and lulu.com allows you to publish an array of different items (books of all kind including e-books, calendars, photo albums, cds, dvds, etc.).

Also, check out The Ivory Tower (www.theivrytower.com).  It's a pretty extensive directory of submission sites for writers and artists alike.

((I couldn't figure out Elance either, by the way!))

Lastly, keep doing job site searches on creative writing.  Craigslist and Indeed seem to be my favorite sites.  As a creative writer, be creative in your search criteria, and try to think like a search engine, which will return results not based on a phrase usually but in finding each individual word. For example when I was looking for a reporting analyst position a while back, I typed 'crystal reports' (the software I'm accustomed to) and every job that had "reports to [manager/VP/CEO, etc]" came back, rendering my search pretty much useless!  Quotes around a phrase usually eliminate this from happening smile

Hope I helped, and good luck!

You have to sign up for Elanc and pay a monthly fee and see what they are looking for and you may submit your work to them and see what the critics say and if there is any market for them.

    I would recommend the following:
http://authorsden.com, for a small one time fee
    http://freestorycenter.com
    http://fanfiction.com\
try some of the blogs as well as
    http://xanga.com, which is good.
You will need to get a good grammar and spell check software I recommend white smoke, they have a professional one that covers all the modes of writing, or if you prefer White Smoke has the creative writing software that corrects grammar, punctutation, and spelling as well. It is well worth it.
You need to understand what Public Domain law is, so you know what you can use in your creative writing and what you can't use in your creative writing- way of music, pictures, and art.
There is creative writing software out there New Novelist 7 which costs around $70.00. and there is another site that allows you to download your story for both readers and publishers to read.

    Good Luck.

Thanks so much for your time and consideration in replying to my email.  I don't know how to connect the links for amazon, google ad, ebay etc.. to my site?  Can you tell me how I do that?  Although I have joined amazon, google ad and ebay - my sites all sit idle as I have no idea how/where to cut and paste the links et al...

I would REALLY appreciate it if you could share this information with me and thank you so much for a REALLY good answer to my initial question.

    Blessings, Helen
