How do you remove formatting and paragraph marks from a manuscript before you submit it?
It's driving me crazy, now that I know they are there.
The formatting and paragraph marks in Word are only visible in certain views. They can be turned off, leaving the formatting and paragraphs in place, but not displaying the marks.
I don't know about other software packages, but in Word 2007, the 'Home' tab displays a back-to-front 'P'. Click that.
If you're using a different version of Word or indeed another package and can't find the paragraph character (back-to-front 'P'), press F1 and type into the search box "hide formatting" and that should give you the instructions you need.
That's how I did it anyway.
