What are your favorite book series?

Not just books, but series.  Everything from trilogies to massive works with seemingly 100s of books (think Diskworld or Xanth.)

James Patterson's Series with Alex Cross.  The  Lindsay Boxer series are okay, but the Alex Cross series are astounding.

Unfortunately for me me weakness in books falls along the lines of teen romance(sad to admit), so series like the Twilight Saga--well before it became popular--and the Shiver series by Maggie Shiefvater are some of my favorites.

I love Uglies and The Luxe series (Elizabeth99 you might like Luxe, it's YA romance historic fiction, a little Gossip Girl, but better.)

I have to admit to a weakness for teen fiction, Twilight, the Mortal Instruments, etc.
I also love Sherrilyn Kenyon's Darkhunter series. Sexy immortal men...mmmm.
Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series is awesome, too. Full of history.

I would have to say the mystery/fantasy kind. Or just mystery.

I love Tanya Huff Blood Book series.

    Also Vampire Academy.

I'm also a big fan of most young adult books, the Mortal Instruments series being one of my favorites. But my favorite author by far is Kelley Armstrong. She recently branched out into young adult with her Darkest Powers trilogy, but she is better known for her Women of the Otherworld series which can be found in Sci-Fi/Fantasy.

I LOVE Christine Feehan's books. She has several different series out there.

Dark Series (about carpathians, vampires, romance, and lots of action)

GhostWalkers Series ( hard to explain what it is about without writting a lot!!)

Drake Sisters Series ( about 7 sisters who have gifts and find there lifemates)

Leopard Series ( about humans who can transform (shift) into a leopard)

And then she has some single books out that are really good!!!

Terry Pratchett's Discworld books.  My wife introduced them to me, and I just love them!  I especially like the ones where there is actual meaning in addition to the humor, where there's something numinous...

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is a must-read, no matter what genre you most prefer. And when it comes to sci-fi books, the Dune series by Frank Herbert is a masterpiece.

When I was a boy, I loved the Hardy Boys series. I was hoping my sons would like the Hardy Boys too, but then Harry Potter came along and the Hardy Boys couldn't compete.

As an adult I love Michael Connelly's books featuring homicide detective Hieronymus (Harry) Bosch. It's a somewhat unusual series, in that Bosch also shows up as a supporting or minor character in other Connelly books that star lawyer Mickey Haller. (A movie version of the Mickey Haller book "The Lincoln Lawyer" is being released later this month.)

Other series that I enjoy are Sue Grafton's alphabet mysteries starring private investigator Kinsey Millhone and James Patterson's Alex Cross series.

I am currently reading and enjoying Stieg Larsson's millennium trilogy. With any series, if at all possible, I try to read the books in order.
