What topics make interesting fiction stories? and why?
romance, thrillers, dramas, etc
Mystery. Mystery is kinda' universal. It can dance with romance, be cloaked in a thriller, and raise an eye brow or two with drama. I love a good mystery story, even though I watch more than I read. Even as a child reading the Raven it was a mystery to me until years later re-reading it - LOL. Yup, for me a mystery.
Stories that reflect society to which others can relate are the most interesting fictional stories. Also, I like good historical fiction, like Robert Graves or Bernard Cornwell.
i agree with tsmog. mystery fictions are always well-loved (well, the good ones, anyway). a whodunit's always fun to read. it's exciting, keeps you turning the pages, and makes you ponder endlessly about WHO or WHAT. plus, it's fun to write as well as read.
Before deciding on a writing idea,
look at it from every possible view
and then pick how best to write
Fiction is thought-of, imagined or
created stories. Characters are
sprinkled in a setting to solve a
problem. Before deciding on a writing
idea, look at it from every possible
view and then pick how best to write
Ask yourself questions. Is there a
specific problem to address? How will it
Look around the problems, situations,
in your life. Is there a mystery at work
to explore in writing? A haunted house
everyone talks about? Interesting headline?
