Does anyone know any good publications to submit poetry and short stories to for publication?
I haven't sought publishing in a while, so I'm out of the loop. I'm looking for paid, preferably, and/or contests and/or publications that represent a good foot in the door and look good on a resume. Thanks!
PDXKaraokeGuy - I tend to look in the back of the current issue of poets and writers magazines for the best contests. It's getting harder and harder to be paid for poetry, but short stories are a better market. My favorite contest is by the Ledge magazine, which offers one prize per year.
