Yes, all the time. If you want each character of your story to be unique and individual in their own way, you voice them over, or repeat what they say. I even draw pictures of my characters for that visual take as well
Yeah and I guess that is necessary too. But different people have different opinions n approaches.
I treat a character like a person. If I hear something particular in his voice, I focus on it. If not, I don't. If difference is obvious to you, make sure it is obvious to the reader!
