What should be the correct usage: "you have spelled it correctly" or "you have spelt it correctly"?
Whichever you prefer. 'Spelt' tends to be the British spelling, 'spelled' the American. But Americans use 'spelt', and Brits use 'spelled' as well. It's no big deal, as long as you're consistent in your own writing - stick with one, it's up to you which you choose.
Lady Wordsmith is correct, and I would add that it can be distracting to your readers if you use the foreign spelling of the word without good reason (i.e. a good reason would be in a joking manner, or to contrast the two countries, or to speak flamboyantly and draw attention to the word). Americans are not used to "spelt" unless it is a grain, and Brits may not be used to spelled.
