What are your favorite novels that were written in the 19th Century?
Some of my favorites in this category would have to include Middlemarch, Les Miserables, The Brother's Karamazov, and Anna Karenina. At least that's what I can think of, off of the top of my head.
I LOVE Les Miserables! Read it in 8th grade, and I probably re-read it at least once a year ever since then
I know a lot of folks would probably go for Pride and Prejudice, but I feel like Mansfield Park by Jane Austen is probably overlooked - I really love all of her work and this is one of my favorites.
Also a heavy read (and I rarely have the mood for it), but an amazing work nonetheless - Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky.
