Is there a word for the loss of the ability to see beauty?

I am writing a piece and am looking for the right word but I just can't find it.

On my estimation that word would be"death". for there is no way a seeing person cannot visualize beauty in life every day.

Disillusionment, cynicism are close, but they're more a loss of trust and faith in the world.

I was going to say cynicism as well.

Depression? Many who are depressed see no happiness anywhere.

The two that came to my mind were "jaded" or "disillusioned".

The word that came to mind was "Philistine" but that's more like "uncultured" or "unable to appreciate culture". I also thought "blind" and a Margaret Cho quote:
“Just because you are blind and unable to see my beauty doesn't mean it does not exist.”  smile
