What should an article/book outline or proposal include?
How should you structure a proposal or working outline for an article or book prior to submission to a publisher? What should you include? What should you NOT include? What is the style like?Do these differ between real-world and online publications?
Any proposal has the same purpose -- to catch publisher's eye. Generally a good book proposal includes:overview -- the introduction, the book hook, the book description in a nutshel, marketing section -- gives an idea what kind of people the book will attract, promotion section -- telling publisher what will you do in order to promote the book, competing books --discuss what competing books are available at the market, about the author, table of contents, chapter-by-chapter summaries, sample chapter -- the best chapter of the entire book.
