Peace, peace, peace. This is an ancient Jewish answer, and is interpreted to mean not only peace as the absence of war, but also justice, for there is no true peace without justice. I would be sure to include inner peace, as well.

The Hindu religion also chants Shanti,, Shanti, Shanti, which means, Peace, Peace, Peace.

Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh from Vietnam, possibly the world's foremost religious advocate for peace says that we will have peace when we do these three things: 1) make sure that everyone in the world has enough food to eat, and clean water to drink; 2) have the people of each religion celebrate the major holidays of all religions as they are celebrated by their own believers (to increase inter-religious understanding); and 3) to stop, breathe three times, and smile, and offer genuine love and joy every time the phone rings.
