What are some of the worst things you have found in your writing?

We all make mistakes in our writing. What mistakes in your writing do you dislike the most? How are you trying to fix them?

I hate when my writing sounds 'amateurish'. This comes in many different forms. Word choice, telling instead of showing, character voices that all sound the same. Nothing spurs my motivation faster than discovering one of these errors. Almost to the detriment of the story because I'm so eager to get rid of it that I'm at risk of deleting what's around it. That and semi-colons. My first drafts are always filled with semi-colons.

Repeating words too often, passive voice taking over, adverbs strewn across the text, simple misspelling, grammar.  Let's see. Straying off point, not following a timeline. The first step to fixing them is realizing the mistakes are there, so I got that going for me tongue
