That varies. Even when having writers block there is difference as it may be inspiration such as every thing seems bland. Maybe mood where depression counters effort. Possibly it may be I don't feel the power of a muse. There are effects that block writing for me of least. I think with those cases it is focusing on the message that is the greatest challenge. I am not able to see the destination much less the path. I am stuck at the start.
The business side of it; whether it's groveling to agents or begging seasoned readers to give your self-published book a chance. Selling/marketing the book I've written sucks all the fun out of writing. I feel like most writers, by nature, are more reserved and quiet. So to ask us to turn into car salesmen at the drop of a hat is a disservice to what we're actually good at.
