    There are no life lessons to be learned from it. The Divine Comedy was Dante's way of saying "Screw you" to the politicians of his day, and the arrangement of the Inferno and its nine circles was his way of pointing out their corruption and equating them to the worst of sinners. And then he put himself and all his friends in Heaven, because of course he did. So basically, he wanted to call out a bunch of guys for being bad people, and used the guise of a religious epic to do it.

    It's easy to fall into a life of sin and depravity and harder to redeem oneself.  It is possible with the help and support of those who love you.
